Thank you for your interest in serving in Egypt!
Our short-term teams are an opportunity to come alongside the work God is already doing through our ministry partners in Egypt. We serve pastors and church leaders, refugees and families, women and children, and local communities through humanitarian outreach, leadership development, education, discipleship, evangelism, and other ministry opportunities.
A short-term mission trip is an incredible privilege, but it is also a ministry assignment, not simply a travel experience. Our goal is to build teams of people who are spiritually prepared, flexible, teachable, servant-hearted, and able to work well together. Before completing this application, please prayerfully consider whether this type of trip is a good fit for you.
This trip is for individuals who:
• Have a genuine heart to serve others and share the love of Jesus.
• Are spiritually mature and actively pursuing a relationship with Christ.
• Are willing to serve wherever they are needed, even if it is outside their preferred area of ministry.
• Can be flexible when schedules, plans, meals, transportation, or ministry opportunities change.
• Are able to follow instructions from team leaders and local ministry partners.
• Can work well as part of a team and submit to team leadership.
• Are respectful and teachable when encountering cultural differences.
• Are emotionally and spiritually prepared to encounter poverty, difficult circumstances, and people with significant physical, emotional, or spiritual needs.
• Have sufficient general health and stamina to participate in the activities of the trip.
• Are willing to participate fully in the team experience, including ministry, team meetings, prayer, and scheduled activities.
• Ideally have some previous volunteer, ministry, missions, church, or service experience, although this is not required. A genuine heart to serve and a willingness to learn are essential.
This trip may not be a good fit for someone who:
• Primarily wants a sightseeing or vacation experience in Egypt.
• Has difficulty being flexible when plans change or circumstances are unpredictable.
• Has difficulty receiving or following direction from team leadership.
• Prefers to serve only in a specific ministry role or according to personal preferences.
• Has significant mobility limitations that would make the physical demands of the trip difficult.
• Has significant health concerns that could make international travel or the planned activities unsafe or difficult.
• Requires extensive or highly restrictive dietary accommodations that may be difficult to accommodate in the local setting.
• Is unwilling to adapt to Egyptian culture, customs, food, schedules, or living conditions.
• Is currently experiencing significant personal, emotional, relational, or spiritual instability that could make participation in a demanding cross-cultural ministry environment difficult.
• Is not comfortable serving alongside people from different cultural, socioeconomic, or religious backgrounds.
• Is unwilling to participate in team prayer, meetings, ministry preparation, and other team expectations.
Please understand: Completing an application does not guarantee a place on the team. Our desire is to prayerfully build a healthy team that is equipped to serve effectively and represent Christ and our church well.
