Other Important Notes
  • Phone Service Options:
    • Ensure that your phone service has been unlocked so you can use an eSIM when in Egypt. Contact your carrier for additional information.
    • Let your team leader know that you need a SIM card for your PAID
    • It is recommended to download anything to your phone that uses data frequently or that you’d want to have access to when you don’t have internet/WIFI. (i.e., google translate, Google Maps, Spotify playlists for music or white noise)
    • We recommend making a separate photo album on your phone with 10-20 pictures that show things from home (family, friends, pets, your job, favorite places to hang out in your city) that you’d like to share with people you may meet. This will make it easier than scrolling through hundreds of pictures on your phone to find the one that you really like.

    • Usually hair dryers, and water kettles are provided in hotels
    • Phone chargers are easy to attain in Egypt
    • Most Laptop chargers are 110v and 220v – any adapter will work (easy to attain in Egypt)
  • Winter/Fall – We recommend you dress in “layers”. In Fall and Spring, the mornings and evenings can be cold, and mid-day can be much warmer.
  • Summer, it is very hot. Wear breathable, light fabrics. Winters can be very cold. Bring a good jacket, scarf, and gloves if you tend to run cold.
